2022 Ladies Club Captain

A Message from your Lady Captain Hilary Smalley

I am honoured and proud to be The Nottinghamshire Golf and Country Club, Lady
Captain for 2022, the time has flown by since I said ‘Yes’ to being Vice Captain!! And I
can honestly say that I am looking forward to the year ahead with this fabulous, strong
and vibrant Ladies Section and this I’m sure we will celebrate throughout the coming
year.

I can promise you that I along with the committee intend to offer some new and
exciting and fun events for 2022. After the last two years I am hoping that the
current situation will ease and we can have a more normal year and this is what I have
been planning for, so fingers crossed!!

I joined the club in 2017 after moving to the area and I am delighted that I did, as all
made me very welcome! I can also state that my handicap has seriously improved since
joining.

This is a large Ladies section who welcome beginners to single figure handicappers, all
ages and ability. We are a very inclusive club, so there is something that will suit
everyone

We are fortunate to be able to offer more than 100 competitions to the ladies,
including 9 hole qualifying competitions, with the chance to play in league and friendly
matches, as well as external competitions.

We have two excellent courses to test your skills and a superb modern clubhouse and
hotel with great accommodation.

We also have an excellent Golf Shop offering golf clothing and equipment together with
superb professional coaching staff and top range simulator to test your skills!

The Charity for the club this year is Rainbows Hospice, East Midlands
This really is a worthwhile charity that supports children and young adults going more
than the extra mile. All the excellent work they do is funded mainly by charitable
donations. There will be many events throughout the year for all members to take part
in. I hope you will all in some way be able to support us whilst having fun, so that we at

their limited lives!
