Real Weddings – Katy & Wayne

In the first of our NEW Real Weddings Series, we are excited to share the elegant wedding of Katy & Wayne who celebrated their marriage here at The Nottinghamshire on Saturday 10th May 2014.

Wayne proposed in the grounds of Langar Hall in December 2011 and the couple wanted a wedding venue near to their special engagement spot so they could spend their wedding night there, Bride Katy explains. “We started looking for venues in the following June and we decided pretty quickly  that it was to be at The Nottinghamshire, we just loved the place.  The décor was perfect, really trendy and the layout inside was great and – of course – the grounds, which are amazing.  We went to look around and booked straight away.”  The couple had a little under two years planning their special day and decided on a navy and white theme, accentuated by hints of pale pink and lots of sparkle!

The creative couple designed a lot of the elements themselves, making all the invites, favours and table plan after getting a lot of ideas from Pinterest and Google Images.  Having chosen our inclusive Nottinghamshire Package the couple worked closely with Jo from Cakey Wakey and chose stunning crystal candleabras. “We couldn’t fault Jo, we told her what we wanted and she just got on with it, hassle free! They were part of our package and I would definitely recommend them.”

Working closely with The Nottinghamshire on all aspects of their wedding meant both the Bride & Groom were excited for the day, comfortable in the knowledge that everything was taken care of they weren’t feeling the normal nerves! “The meetings were really useful and made us feel confident the The Nottinghamshire knew what we wanted and everything was prepared.  Neither of us felt nervous before the day and the whole planning process was stress free, which made it really easy for us.” “The ceremony was beautiful. Wayne said as soon as he walked into the room with Claire (The Nottinghamshire Events Manager), he burst out crying and I was the same, as soon as I saw the guests it hit me.”  Tears soon made way for laughter as Katy struggled to get Wayne’s ring on, which took a bit of time – the moment captured perfectly.

“We love all our photos, both the ones taken inside the cube and out in the grounds, the lake and the willow trees are so pretty.  It was very windy, but that actually made our photos lovely!  Our photographers were Forever Young Photography, a mother and daughter team and they truly are amazing at what they do, their service before, during and after the wedding was top notch! Our photos are truly beautiful and they captured everything perfectly.”

” I really wouldn’t change a thing, we’re both very happy with the way our wedding went and the only that is that we wish we could do it all over again because we had the best day ever – we could not have asked for anything  better! We had a fabulous time at The Nottinghamshire, even  now, six months on we still get regular emails asking how we are and if we are enjoying married life. “
